Modern and stylish abayas for muslimahs

Modern and stylish abayas for muslimahs

Abayas are made in many different ways and with many different designs. A lot of the influence of the design, colour and material comes from the geographic location of where the abaya is made or worn.
An abaya made in Turkey for the local market will ideally have at the least one area of the abaya that has a printed design. The abaya material will be shiny or have a very smooth surface such as using a satin material. The material of the abaya will also be quite thick and of high quality. It is also common to design abayas in the shape of coats.
An abaya in the United Arab Emirates made for the local market will be of a very light material and have a light and bright colour. Many of the abayas will be very shiny and have beaded or stone work done onto the abaya. Tassels would also be used along the joints or at the edges. The abayas usually tend to match the khimar or headscarf in this case and are made of the same material as the actual abaya.

In India or Pakistan the abaya if made for the local market will be black in colour and of cotton material normally. The abaya would have embroidery in dark colours such as maroon and navy blue. There would also be patch work with a shiny material mostly on the sleeves and collars. The embroidery is mostly done on the arms and at the bottom of the abaya.
An abaya worn in Indonesia would be of a very light colour and made mainly of cotton. The khimar to match the abaya would be a very large size. It is common to use cutwork rather than embroidery to create a design on abayas in Indonesia. The abaya is very popular in Indonesia and is worn by thousands of Muslim women there.

In Egypt the abaya would be made of a very light material but in very bright colours. The Egyptians are very well known for their creativity in styling abayas. The materials used could be from silk, polyester to cotton and georgette. The abayas have loads of tassels and laces on the sleeves and the back area. This helps loosen the abya even more if required. The sleeves are usually more loose and longer. Some abayas in Egypt even have gloves attached to it that can be worn or tucked into the sleeves.

Abayas are worn using various styles around the world and the variety keeps increasing. In Europe and the US many styles have been adapted by Muslims and new styles have also been created under the label of jilbabs. The motive of all Islamic dresses irrespective of location or origin is the same, to dress modestly.

Looking For The Right Maternity Clothes

Looking For The Right Maternity Clothes

When you are pregnant, the whole notion of "does this outfit make me look fat" takes on a whole new meaning. Not only do we not want to look fat, we want to look beautifully pregnant without looking like we put on extra weight. We want curves to show in the right places, but we don't want our bottom to look as big as our belly! More than ever, this is a time in a woman's life where smart shopping is key to building a stylish, functional and flattering maternity wardrobe.

The average weight gain for a pregnant woman is between 25-35 pounds. This weight gain starts to occur in the middle of your first trimester, unless you have severe morning sickness, and continues to the day you have your baby. Not only are you putting on more weight overall, your weight gain might shift to new places on your body such as your arms, thighs and even feet! Nearly every pregnant woman finds their bust size increase by a cup during pregnancy and oftentimes more during nursing. Women who never gained weight in their bottom or hips suddenly find they have more to address than just an expanding belly. On the bright side, being pregnant can have some huge shopping perks, because now is the time you have the license to buy yourself a new wardrobe so why not have some fun with it!

If you want to find some great fashion that is comfortable and doesn't break the bank, shop first for some good basic mix and match pieces. Here are a few tips to keep in mind in building your wardrobe:

- The sooner you start your maternity wardrobe, the more mileage you will get out of it and the more comfortable you will be in your clothes. Once you stop trying to squeeze into your seemingly shrinking regular clothes with increasingly tight waistbands, you will no longer feel bloated and overweight. Others will also recognize you are pregnant and stop worrying about your weight as well! Also, you are less likely to feel morning sickness from comfortably fitting maternity clothes.

- Remember that maternity sizes should be roughly equivalent to your normal, pre-pregnancy size. However make allowance for your weight gain. If you find that you are gaining at a quicker rate than average, you might find going up a size is more comfortable. Oftentimes overseas brands such as Ripe Maternity and Noppies Maternity will run slightly smaller than many American brands such as Japanese Weekend and Maternal America. If you are shopping online it is a good idea to check out the size chart and description to see if there is any note of the item running large or small. You can also call or email customer support on brand fitting information.

- When in doubt, always go up a size. Now is not the time for sizing vanity. You are pregnant and expected to gain weight and you will be much more comfortable in a size that fits you with room to grow. If you buy an item that barely fits you today with little room to grow, you will find yourself staring at it in your closet for the remainder of your pregnancy. Remember you will get bigger until the day you have your baby, you will not be going on a diet while you are pregnant! Look for comfortable elastic waistbands that have the same color waistband as the rest of the pant.

- Never buy a tight maternity or nursing bra or undergarments. Not only will a maternity or nursing bra be uncomfortable, if it is too tight it can also lead to clogged milk ducts and mastitis when you are nursing. Also, your breasts need to have room to grow even after delivery of your baby. Some women go up another cup size after their milk comes in.

- Invest in a good maternity jean. There are stylish and comfortable maternity jeans at every price point. If you do want to splurge a bit on one item, do it on a well fitting maternity jean, particularly if you are jeans person. Aside from sleepwear, this is one fashion item you will get the most mileage from, so it is worth it to spend a few extra dollars to find a pair that will last and stretch you through your pregnancy. Many maternity jeans, such as the Noppies 4 Pocket Jean, looks like a regular jean as it does not have an elastic maternity band and fits below the belly with an internal waist adjuster. This type of jean can also be worn as a transition jean after the baby.

- In cold weather dress in layers. Buy lighter weight clothing than you would usually wear as you will find your overall body temperature higher when you are pregnant. Even in the winter months, and particularly in places like an office space, an overdressed pregnant woman can easily overheat. By dressing in lighter layers you can shed or add clothing as needed.

- Don't wear restrictive clothing, if you we must wear pantyhose, buy maternity pantyhose, such as Noppies Maternity Tights. Maternity pantyhose will allow belly support and allow for better circulation. Maternity leggings are a good non-restrictive and trendy option over pantyhose. Japanese Weekend, Maternal America and 1 in the Oven all make a high quality legging in a variety of styles and colors to choose from. Leggings look great under a maternity tunic, dress or skirt!

- When shopping, look for similar color families than can be easily mixed and matched and are layer friendly. Tanks and camis make an excellent first layer as they are comfortable and add a light layer of warmth. Also, camis and tanks can be worn alone in the warmer weather and many are made with support bras. There are also many transitional camis and tanks out there, such as Glamourmom's maternity/nursing tank, that can be worn for maternity as well as for nursing after the baby is born.

- Look for transitional maternity tops and maternity dresses that can double as nursing tops and dresses which can be worn after the baby. There is now a wide variety of fashions available for transition wear. Japanese Weekend has an excellent selection of transition wear nursing tops including a very versatile office-friendly Cross Over Top Maternity/Nursing top. Majamas has a whole line of transition wear clothing including their super soft yoga pants that can be worn throughout pregnancy and beyond. The Maternal America Nursing Dress is a beautiful new dress by Maternal America which can be worn throughout your pregnancy and does not look like a nursing dress.

- Buy an all purpose black pant that is comfortable to wear. Black goes with everything and is slimming as well so don't forget to stock this basic. Also, make sure you have some comfortable loungewear pants for the house. 1 in the Oven's Super Soft Ruched Fold Over Pant and Corduroy Lounge Pants are stylish enough to wear outside the house. They are very comfortable that you want to live in them.

- Make sure you spice up your wardrobe with a few fun patterns and flirty dresses. Remember, you will be living in this clothing for at least 6 months. If you plan to get pregnant again in the future, you may be looking at the many of these same maternity clothes in your closet. Make sure you have some fun and mix in some fashion pieces that you will enjoy wearing. Solids are important for your wardrobe, but they can get boring pretty fast if that's the only thing you are wearing everyday!

Shopping is supposed to be fun, not a chore. So, have some fun with the wide selection of maternity fashions out there. You have a whole new and evolving shape to dress, so try some new looks, show some cleavage, and have fun shopping!

The Japanese Chin: Royal Japanese Presents

The Japanese Chin: Royal Japanese Presents

The Japanese Chin has not always been known as the "Japanese Chin." In the beginning of the Japanese Chin in Europe and America he was known as the Japanese Spaniel and although called "Japanese," there is no real proof that its native land is Japan. Several Japanese Chin historians believe the term 'Chin' must have been a mistranslation.

The Chin Dog in Japan was written in the early 1960s by Mr. Koichi Uoi, Dr. Hideo Wakui and Dr. Seikoh Yoshida. In this book they added a disclaimer about the name, which states: "The Chin is heretofore called "Japanese Spaniel' in Europe and America, but the term must be a mistranslation, because the Chin is neither of Spanish line, nor a house. Taking the opportunity of publishing this book, we propose you call it 'Chin'." Still yet another writer feels there has been a further mis-translation and that "Spanish line" should read "spaniel."

The Japanese Chin makes contact with the West by way of trade between England and Japan which started in 1549. At that time it was customary for gifts to be exchanged. Japanese Chin historians believe it is very likely that the 'Japanese' race of dogs was part of this trade and gifts.

In 1613 Captain Saris returned from Japan with dogs for the King as a present from the Emperor. It is felt these dogs were probably the Japanese Spaniel.

The historian Kaempfer visited Japan in 1691 for the Dutch East India Company. He tells us since the reigning Emperor (Kin-Sen, 1687) came to the throne, there were more dogs bred in Japan than anywhere else. The Japanese have long had a special love for breeding dogs.

The Chief Factor for Japan of the East India Company from 1615 to 1623 was a man called Richard Cocks. Mr. Cocks kept a diary of events during this his time period as the Chief Factor. He complained about the enormous number of presents required to help keep commerce relationships smooth between the Japanese and the British. Dogs were presented as imperial gifts very often. The custom of presenting dogs as Imperial gifts persisted to the mid-19th century.

By the 19th century Japan was perceived as a country of real importance to the USA. Japan's harbors and coal deposits lay on the main route from San Francisco to Shanghai.

Contact with the English-speaking world ended in 1623. In 1852 a new American expedition visited Japan under the command of Commodore Matthew Calbraith Perry. When Perry arrived at the coast of Japan on July 8th 1853 he brought with him several gifts that were delivered to the Japanese with a great ceremony. Among the gifts were:

•One quarter-size miniature steam engine, track, tender and car
•One Francis' copper lifeboat
•One surf boat of copper
•Audubon's Birds, in nine vols.
•Natural History of the State of New York, sixteen vols.
•Silver-topped dressing case
•Quarter-cask of Madeira
•Barrel of whisky
•Telescope and stand in box
•Flowered silk embroidered dress
•Six dozen assorted perfumery.

The Japanese were delighted by the generosity of the Americans. However, the Americans were not so impressed by the gifts from the Japanese.

The Japanese gifts were seven Japanese Chins (and because the Japanese so adored their dogs, these were probably thought to be very special and extra treasured gifts). Four Japanese Chins were given to the Commodore as a gift for the President. William Speiden, the fleet purser's son was also given a Chin. Two other Japanese Chin were taken back to America aboard a separate ship. All total was five Japanese Chins taken on board Perry's own vessel. Three of these adorable creatures were reported to have died en route. Two were later transferred to the British Admiral Stirling's ship and eventually presented to Queen Victoria. Two Japanese Chins reached New York safely and were given to Mrs. Augusta Belmont, Perry's daughter.

The Commodore later learned that there are three articles which in Japan, as he understood it, always formed part of an Imperial present. These were:

•Rice
•Dried Fish
•And dogs.

Some also said Charcoal was included. Surely all these items served some kind of symbol to the Japanese people, of which, he did not learn of. The charcoal was part of the gifts given at this time. And four small dogs of a rare breed were sent to the President as part of the Japanese Emperor's gift to the U.S. Also public prints tell us two were put on board Admiral Stirling's ship for Her Majesty of England.

Dogs were always part of a Royal Japanese Present. And it was always the kind you never see running on the streets. They were carried in beautiful straw baskets when they were taken outdoors. It was understood that the Royal Japanese Presents of "dogs" and specifically the Japanese Chin were "rare and costly."

By contrast, those things considered "special" to the Americans was a telescope standing in a box, a barrel of whiskey, New York History books, books about birds.........Apparently the Japanese thought the Americans were very generous people, and the Americans felt the little dogs, rice, dried fish and charcoal was a poor display not worth over a thousand dollars some said.

I rather have the little dogs myself! I would have been delighted and overjoyed to have received one of those little Japanese Chins as opposed to a barrel of whiskey and books about birds or the history of New York City!

I think all of us today who love the Japanese Chin realize just the same as the Japanese people realized that they are a great treasure to receive and to own. To some of us, they are still "Royal" Japanese Presents.

Hijab For Women In The Gaza Strip Is Being Encouraged By Hamas

Hijab For Women In The Gaza Strip Is Being Encouraged By Hamas

<!-- @page { margin: 2cm } P { margin-bottom: 0.21cm } A:link { so-language: zxx } -->

Hijab for women is an Islamic traditional wear. The word in Arabic means curtain. A meta-physical definition of 'al-hijab' says that it is a veil which separates man from God. It is a veil that is worn over the head by a woman. It has been very popular in Islamic tradition since 1970s. However, each person has his or her own take on how the garment should be worn.

Muslim women are supposed to wear full body covering cloaks like the Abaya and the Jilbab, which supposedly will prevent them from harm. To complete this traditional wear they are also supposed to wear a hijab in front of any man who they could theoretically marry. Hence,it is not necessary for whom to wear these in front of their fathers, brothers, grandfathers, uncles, or children. It is a sign of Islamic modesty. Old women generally do not wear them as it is considered that they have crossed the age of marriage. Still they are not supposed to display their beauty.

Hamas, the ruler of the Gaza Strip, has encouraged women to wear hijabs. It is the first step towards implementing Islamic law in Gaza. Hence, we see that these are a very important part of the Islamic dress code. Each person has a different take on how far she should cover herself; some women cover their whole body including the face too.

In present times, hijabs for women are complying with the latest design trends. You can choose from the ones made from different material, like lycra, cotton and linen. They are available in vibrant colors and intricate designs. The two piece ones are very comfortable and are also very convenient to wear. The two piece ones are underlined with an additional section of fabric which prevents them from slipping from the head.

Traditional hijabs are either found in black and brown, but today you can easily find them in pink, lavender, orange, green and many more. You can also find them designed intricately with embellishments, floral prints, and shimmery metallic fabrics. They are available in various styles, like some are in shawl-style; others are available in different shapes, like rectangular or oblong. They are generally available in free sizes.

If you want a trendy hijab for yourself or to gift it to someone then you can visit http://www.eastessence.com/ to get one that suits your style. It is one place you can find all the latest designs in all kinds of eastern wear.

Plus Size Divas: Shopping 101

Plus Size Divas: Shopping 101

Frequently, referred to as a plus-sized woman can be a frustrating and daunting experience. Dressing rooms can feel like a prison. Shopping can feel like a chore, instead of a wonderful and fulfilling experience. However, knowing and following certain guidelines is essential to shopping like a pro.

Shirts. Is your torso smaller than your bust? Buy dress shirts to fit your bust. Use a tailor or seamstress to add darts to create a more fitted look. Also, layering tanks and camisoles under your shirts create a smoother appearance. P. S. Make sure an appointment to have a professional bra fitting. You can improve your posture and have a great bust line.

Pants. If you are bottom heavy, stay clear of large geometric prints and loud color pants. Wide leg pants are great for women with large thighs.  If you have a small waist and large thighs, purchase pants, which fit your thighs. Have a seamstress or tailor take in the waist.

Dresses. Solid color dresses balance your proportions. Wrap style dresses draw attention to your waist. Wide belts are your best friends. Tunic dresses enhance your flaws and make you appear larger. Dresses with small prints make you look great. Dresses with cap sleeves make your arms look heavier. Large, bold prints on dresses are not flattering.

Shoes. Wearing heels make your legs appear leaner. Ballet flats can make your legs look chunky. Wear ballet flats with flared leg pants to create a nice silhouette. Wedge heels provide comfort, style, and support.

Remember when you go shopping grab several sizes to take to the dressing room. Use the dressing room. Don't purchase it and then find out it doesn't fit. You are wasting valuable time, money, and gas. Shopping should be fun. If you don't have a good time shopping with others, shop alone. You shouldn't feel  any pressure to look great. It should come to you naturally.

Nose Job Capital of the World: Beverly Hills or Tehran

Nose Job Capital of the World: Beverly Hills or Tehran

Fashion conscious women prefer to spend their money in plastic surgery and proudly show it off.  They want smaller noses to look almost like Barbie. “You guessed wrong! I am not talking about Beverly Hills but rather Iran.” Dr Payman Simoni, a Beverly Hills rhinoplasty specialist, explains. With Over 100,000 plastic surgery per year Iran has been the rhinoplasty capital of the world.

A woman's beauty is an essential component of Iranian culture. ''Kill me, but make me beautiful,'' one Iranian proverb goes. ''The beautiful face soothes the tired heart and opens the closed door,'' goes another.   However the Islamic rulers of Iran have been limiting the display of female beauty by enforcing Islamic dress code. Iran's strict Islamic dress code has backfired. Where the women face is the only visible part of the body it is understandable that unsightly nose can take a center attention. Influenced by flock of western culture through internet and satellites, Hollywood noses are the Persian women’s dream.   The desire among lovely Persian women to look like Snow White is strange but it is a direct reaction to authority's attempts to make them look like bats and crows.

There have reportedly been more nose jobs in Iran recently than in any other country in the world.  Persian women are flocking plastic surgery offices like nowhere else in the world.  Right after leaving Tehran's plastic surgeons’ operating rooms, women rush to their favourite coffee shops to show off a new bandaged badge-of-honour noses. Some even wear fake bandages just for the show off. Now It's becoming increasingly common for Iranian men to have cosmetic surgery too.

Business has been wonderful for hundreds of doctors specializing in nose and other facial surgeries. Of even greater concern are the rising instances of facial disfigurement resulting from operations carried out by unqualified surgeons. As a result, Iran's justice ministry has set up a special office for medical malpractice cases. Between 2001 and 2004, it dealt with 2,715 cases arising from cosmetic surgery, leading to 459 doctors receiving various forms of written rebuke and 21 being suspended for up to four years.

In Beverly Hills and Los Angeles, one of the largest communities of Iranian outside Iran, nose job still remains one of the most requested surgeries by Persian women. Dr Simoni, a Beverly Hills facial plastic surgeon, explains. In United state too non qualified surgeons are allowed to perform rhinoplasty. Rhinoplasty is by far the most difficult of all the plastic surgeries thus Dr Simoni recommends board certified facial plastic surgeons.

Mexico?s Carnival, Fiesta Forever! It?s More Than Just Beads?

Mexico?s Carnival, Fiesta Forever! It?s More Than Just Beads?

Celebrated the week prior to Ash Wednesday and normally lasting a little less than a week, Carnival in Mexico has a long tradition dating back to the nineteenth century. Coming from the Latin word Carnavale, meaning “goodbye to the flesh,” Carnival refers to the week before Lent (Cuaresma), where carefree abandonment and indulgence are encouraged.

Beauty Queens and Burning Moods, what else can you ask for?

Kick-off begins with the burning of El Mal Humor (Bad Mood), in which an effigy, usually modeled after an unpopular politician of the day, is hung and burned, followed by a flurry of confetti and fireworks. This gives commencement to nearly a week of festivities in some of Mexico’s most popular coastal cities, including Campeche, Mazatlan, Veracruz and Merida, just to name a few.

Host cities celebrate all sorts of parades daily, depending on the local carnival’s theme, which differs from region to region. Parades display an array of floats decoratively inspired by Mexican scenery and normally featuring bright flowers and live entertainment. Some parades require an entrance fee, and visitors are advised to get tickets to the parade as soon as they can through the local tourist office or hotel.

Mexpipe Challenge Surf Carnaval-February 16-20

For the first time ever, a surf carnival has been added this year at Zacatela beach in Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca. This festival with a laid-back Woodstock-like atmosphere will take place on the beach and will have D.J.S, a fashion show, electronic dance parties and break dancing competitions as well as plenty of surf in the Pacific Ocean.

Men and women can compete in surfing competitions as well as enjoy the many festivities offered in conjunction with the carnival. The Grand Carnival Parade takes place on Tuesday the 20th, followed by a costume contest and an awards ceremony at Town Hall.

Mazatlan– February 8-20

Mazatlan, home to the third-largest Carnival celebration in the world after those in New Orleans and Rio de Janeiro, attracts more than 400,000 people each year. From February 8 to 20, thrill-seekers fill the malecón (oceanside promenade) running along downtown’s Ollas Altas beach, singing and dancing along roving mariachi bands. You can also catch regional Sinaloenses bands with lots of brass, as well as rock groups that set up along the way.

Food lovers can enjoy open-air culinary festivals in the Zona Dorada (Golden Zone) and in Machado Plaza. Prominent dishes on hand include Mazatlán's famous pescado zarandeado (barbecued fish), camarones con mango (mango shrimp) and marlín ahumado (smoked marlin). After enjoying some fresh seafood, Ollas Atlas port offers a unique offshore fireworks presentation February 17 representing a mock naval battle, in commemoration of Mazatlan's 1864 victory over the French Navy.

Veracruz – February 13 - 21

Known for its Afro-Caribbean-influenced culture, the port city of Veracruz on the Gulf of Mexico hosts the second-largest Carnival in the country. Parade-goers can expect to see Draculas, drag queens and women in sparkling dresses dancing to the infectious Caribbean/Spanish rhythms along Miguel Avila Camacho Boulevard. Groups from neighboring villages dance in peacock and pheasant-feathered headdresses. A must during Carnival in Veracruz is dancing! Visitors should not miss the chance to dance at the zocalo, or central square. Salsa, cumbia, reggae and marimba are popular, but Jarochos (people from Veracruz) hold a special place in their hearts for the music and dance known as danzon, which first arrived from Cuba in 1880. For live music, visit the zocalo and/or the malecon on February 21, featuring Mexican artists.

And when they aren't dancing, there’s nothing like sitting on the banks of the Jamapa River in the nearby town of Boca del Rio and enjoying succulent grilled huachinango (red snapper), or a vuelve a la vida (Veracruz-style seafood cocktail, a well-known hangover remedy) at bargain prices.

Cozumel – February 14-21

Known as one of the most popular celebrations in the Mexican Caribbean, Cozumel has commemorated this pre-Lenten celebration for nearly 100 years bringing Carnaval to life in an exciting explosion of color and music. Cozumel’s unique celebration includes a variety of costumed characters, such as Harlequins, rumba dancers, Spaniards, gypsy women, fairies, princesses, bullfighters and kings and queens that can be spotted during the week.

This carnival is also considered a family-friendly version of the holiday and begins with the crowning of the emperor and empress as well as the king and queen of Carnaval. As the week progresses and the momentum builds, the island’s celebration continues with colorful parades, nightly street fairs and daily musical performances and dancing throughout the streets of downtown San Miguel.

Merida– February 14-21

The Yucatan Peninsula’s capital city of Merida is one of the many cities that celebrate Carnival, with this year’s theme centered on “The Circus”. Since 1980, the people of the Yucatan celebrate the marching of “El Jacarandoso,” a popular character who was once king of the Carnival and annually displays the most colorful and amusing costume. On Monday during Carnival week, the ladies don hand-embroidered dresses and the gentlemen sparkling white guayaberas, the dress shirts typical of the region.

Other important carnival destinations in Mexico include Ensenada, Baja California; Guaymas, along the Sea of Cortez in Sonora; Tepic, Nayarit; and Chamula, Chiapas, said to be one of the most indigenous festivals in the country.

Inti Raymi: June is here? It’s the Sun Party!

Inti Raymi: June is here? It's the Sun Party!

It happens every year in June, when the winter solstice takes place in the Southern Hemisphere. It is a time when all the Andean families and lots of visitors get together to celebrate the Inca's main festivity: the Inti Raymi –meaning "the Sun's solemn resurrection" in quichua– is a gratitude ceremony to thank the gods for the collected crops. It is a moment where History is renewed and passed on to the new generations. During three days, people are shown how the greatest festivity of South America's largest kingdom was like. If we ask the residents about it, they would tell us a story that would go like this:

Five hundred years ago, the Incas that inhabited the Andes believed the winter solstice was not only a moment to thank the gods for the wealthy crops, but also a moment to remember their origins. The party was rigorously prepared: it started when the political leaders or curacas arrived to the place where the celebration would take place, dressed up with their best outfits and taking with them the most modern inventions as an offering to the Sun god. During the three days of celebration, the whole village had to follow three simple rules: to eat only the strictly necessary; to keep from starting up any kind of fire; and to keep from having sexual relations.

Once the day had come, the highest-ranked chief and his family would wait early in the morning for the sun to rise, which indicated the beginning of the main praising ritual. Everyone would get on their knees, presenting their offerings and drinking a toast with the Inca's traditional drink: the chicha. After that, the celebration started: the attendants would have a taste of the meat of a sacrificed animal, cooked by the fire created  with solar rays that where concentrated through the chief's golden bracelet; and they would drink great amounts of chicha during the three party days. The legend says that if a child with noble Incan descendants was to be born during those days, he would become the Empire's new leader.

Nowadays in Ecuador, the celebration of Inti Raymi starts every 21th of June. It is a real cultural celebration that brings back to life the country's ancient history. The town of Ingapirca gets filled with life: there are children playing and bathing in the river; men dressed up in colorful traditional garments and wearing masks, dancing to the rhythm of Andean music; women in shiny, embroidered dresses; handcrafts on sale; and fresh, delicious traditional dishes. Here, the visitor will be always welcomed by the warmth of the Ecuadorian people.

Ecuador is a diverse and surprising destination with beautiful landscapes and an unprecedented biodiversity, making it one of the most magical places on earth. A sustainable, diverse, surprising, beautiful and unique paradise in Latin America worth knowing.

The maxi dress will take you from summer to winter

The maxi dress will take you from summer to winter

Women's party dresses come in all sorts of shapes and sizes and no matter what the current trend is, there are so many variations that there will always be a choice to suit each body shape and individual style. You can't go anywhere without seeing hoards of women sporting maxi dresses or shop windows full of maxi dresses in bold prints, ditsy floaty florals and bright block colours and they really are a great way for every woman to be effortlessly feminine.

Maxi dresses in natural fabrics will keep you cool in hot weather, allowing you to cover up without overheating and their very nature means that you don't have to spend hours buffing up those pins to get them ready for the general public. The other great thing about the maxi dress is that you can wear it to lounge around in during the day and if you get an invitation to go out on the town at short notice, simply throw on a waist belt, a pair of studded, peep toe wedges and some chunky jewellery and you're ready to go.

And when the winter comes around, there's no need to put your maxi dress to the back of the cupboard, simply team it with a pair of tights, a chunky knit cardigan or a denim jacket, silk scarf and woollen beanie and you'll be instantly warm and sophisticated. Alternatively, choose a vest maxi dress and wear a long-sleeved t-shirt underneath in a contrasting but plain colour for a boho chic look that will keep you fashionably warm.

Leggings and opaque tights make almost all women's party dresses wearable throughout the year, whether you choose a long-sleeved chiffon tunic dress or a layered one shoulder number; you can wear bare legs in the summer and thick tights in the winter and accessorise to match. Peep toe wedges or shoe boots in the same colour as your tights or leggings are great ways to lengthen and slim legs in colder weather, while nude shoes and bare legs have the same effect for the summer months. A long sleeved denim or military style jacket will complete the winter look with a beaded or tailored waistcoat adding glamour and definition to the summer party outfit.

Remember to shop for your shape and style when you're buying a party dress or a maxi dress and don't forget that the secret to a successful look is clever accessorising and make up.

Choose vest top maxi dresses in soft stretch fabrics to take you effortlessly from summer to winter, teaming with tights or leggings and a long-sleeved t-shirt when the temperature drops. Go online for the best choice of women's party dresses.

Guide to Selling Children’s Items on eBay

Guide to Selling Children's Items on eBay

Selling for a profit on eBay is easy when you have kids. People are earning hundreds of dollars a month by selling kid related items. Here are some general ideas to help you get started.

Kids Items You Can Sell

Clothes, toys and videos are good money makers on eBay.

Go to eBay and look up a "lot" of size six girl's cloths. You will find they are expensive! The average price for a lot of 20 good conditioned clothes is about .00.

When your kids grow out of their seasonal clothes do not throw them out. Bundle them into different lots by category. For example bundle girls dresses separate from girls play clothes, but only do that if you have at least six of each different type.

Lots of any item sell better than single items unless the item is unique or high priced. For example, a hand embroidered dress that you paid a lot for would sell better by itself instead of bundled with other basic dresses.

The next item to lookup on eBay is toys. Most toys in good condition will sell for a lot of money. One idea that works well is to buy hot items in October at Wal-Mart or Toys-R-Us and sell them on eBay. Busy people are willing to pay extra for the convenience of getting the items delivered to their home.
For example, last year a Mega Power Ranger came out in stores around October and sold at Wal-Mart for about .00. The same item sold on eBay for up to .00 plus shipping. The Yellow Power Ranger is yet another example where the store price was about .00, while the same item was selling on eBay for about .00.

Have your children ever received duplicate birthday or Christmas presents? You can sell those on eBay also. Look at the eBay listings for items of interest to see if selling on eBay is worth more than returning the item to the store.

Kid's videos and DVDs are also good money-makers. Bundle about three of these together, and you can usually make about .00-.00 per bundle. Bundle more and the money goes up. Disney movies in hard cases can go for a higher amount. This also works for other types of movies as well.

Save those McDonalds toys. Some Kids Meals toys sell high. Take the new Star Wars toys from Burger King...very collectible. You will find them selling on eBay from .00 to .00, not including shipping.

Ebay has a whole section devoted to dolls and bears. If your daughter doesn't want her collectible dolls anymore sell them on eBay.

Kids Crafts You Can Sell

Around the holidays, especially, have your children place their hand in paint and make a print on some quality paper. Add a holiday related poem and you have a great craft to sell on eBay.

Have your kids make gift jars with ready made mixes. For example, hot chocolate mixes in a jar with a plastic spoon tied to it with a ribbon. Dip the end of the spoon with white chocolate.

Baby Items You Can Sell

Used baby items are very profitable. Baby items cost a lot of money, especially in their first year. Any "gently" used items are generally good sellers on eBay.

If you have baby coupons that you will never use, sell them on eBay! Left over diapers and formula sell well also. A lot of 35 used cloth diapers usually sells for around .00 plus shipping. Four Fuzzi Bunz diapers (cloth diapers with hemp inserts) can sell for as much as .00.

There you have it. Plenty of ideas for selling those leftover kids items on eBay...and you can even make a nice profit while you are at it!

North Amer-arabia ? Cultural Self Loathing Will Destroy the US and Canada

North Amer-arabia ? Cultural Self Loathing Will Destroy the US and Canada

Eur-Arabia is a real and vibrant phenomenon – even if the chattering Marxists and compassionate jet-setting internationalists are too ignorant to understand it. Normally, outside of war, a culture or civlisation never disappears in a revolutionary flash. Like the decline of Rome, the change is slow, imperceptible, yet resolute and obvious. The Muslims won't conquer Europe and North America through a military campaign – they will do it by changing and controlling the culture, the political machinery of state, and the mores of society through endless propaganda. Al Qaeda has the wrong strategy. Domestic Islamic groups and their political supporters have the right one.

Marxist control of society was effected by changing the educational, cultural and psychological ethos of society. Gramsci, the Frankfurt School, Noam Chomsky, these and other 'thinkers' knew that the West could only be undermined from within – by destroying its cultural fabric and self-confidence. The Muslims have learnt their lessons well. Politically correct stupor, and [im]moral relativity are nothing more than harsh echoes of Marxian dogma and hatred for Western civilisation. This pernicious disease aids and abets the greatest threat to civilisation that man has known in quite some time – Islam.

That Europe will be lost circa 2050 to the Muslims is pretty much a fait accompli. Not even the Europeans – outside of some Dutch and Danes – care to do much about it. Once you don't care the result – any result – is fine. This Marxist disease is however spreading infectiously in North America. Over time the average North American might wake up to discover that the once proud, advanced and dynamic culture of the Anglo-Saxon 'New World', is a fetish cult, dominated by Arabs and Muslims.

The signs are everywhere. In a West Toronto political riding where I work, 3 of the 4 main candidates are Muslim. Perhaps 5% of the population in this area is Islamic, though it appears to be increasing rapidly. Across North America Muslim money greases the wheels of many a political campaign and the sundry Muslim lobby groups are active at every turn, and quite tenacious in lobbying politicians of all levels and stripes.

In their rush to appease the liberal multi-cult chorus, most mainstream political parties can't do enough to embrace ideas bordering on insanity: more funding for 'religious' schools [sorry but Islam is not a religion]; a recognition of Islamic holidays; tolerance for Islamic dress codes; and granting Islamic demands to protest any and all perceived slight to Mohammed's political ideology. It is a cultural death by a thousand cuts.

Across North American cities, enormous mosques and Muslim centers are being created – funded by Saudi money. If you attend a Muslim recruting session [ie. 'seminar'], you will be surprised at how many Blacks are there. In one of history's great ironies, the Blacks, of whom 30 odd millions were enslaved by the Arabs and Muslims, are converting to an ideology whose main book is suffused with racist, anti-Black messaging. 'Kaffir' is of course a term originally used to denote Black slaves. It is not, if one needs to know, a word of praise or commendation. It identifies non-Muslims as nothing more than slaves, or at best – high tax paying 2nd class dhimmis or apartheid separated slaves. Yet Blacks as a group, are the largest converts to Islam.

Some other disturbing trends exist in North America. Muslim prayer rooms; footbaths; and smoking lounges [which lie outside of non-smoking ordinances] are becoming common. There is the constant and usually successful demand to recognise Muslim holidays and festivals with special programs [at schools, or in public spaces]; and a demand to limit Jewish-Christian artefacts and displays. Chicago, New York, San Fran, Seattle, Toronto – these and other cities have been bludgeoned into celebrating aspects of the Islamic multi-cult or limiting displays, greetings or public appreciation of Judeo-Christian religiosity. An example is New York's bizarre idea of lighting up the Empire State building in green, to celebrate the end of Islamic Ramadan. How far away is the time when we will have a general recognition of Sharia Law in New York and beyond?

Muslims are trying to change the culture of North America to adapt to them – instead of adapting to what has made North America the greatest place in the world to live in. As columnist Mark Steyn opined, the premise of the multi-cult and the cult of [im]moral relativity is that the Anglo-Saxon ethos which created the modern world, is not worth defending, and is in fact a long litany of nothing but disgrace and violence:

'An Englishman or Irishman has no culture. Indeed, Canada has no culture, save what others bring to it. Which is the logical reductio of multiculturalism....Instead of the immigrant assimilating with the host society, the host society assimilates with the immigrant....And so we confront the limits of political correctness. It’s fine for a pliant citizenry sedated by decades of propaganda, but not for Muslims or crackheads who don’t yield quite so easily. When the nanny state runs up against the unnannyable, it crumples like a cheap roll-up.”

In other words, the apathetic, 'uncultured', untutored and inferior White Anglo Saxon or infidel, will be hammered into shape by the [im]moral relativity program of the not so compassionate mommy-state. But don't try that on those inflexible Muslims. Islam is not adaptable nor amenable. It demands, it cries, it wails, it protests and it usually gets what it wants, because the mommy-state can't be bothered to defend the majoritarian culture. Easier to pass the baby some candy to shut it up, then to discipline it so it won't cry again. In that sense the multi-cult program is naturally one of appeasement, apathy, and self-loathing.

This sentiment – that North America has no culture worth protecting – runs deep. You will see it in schools where teachers report middle-school children gushing about the wonderful pagan society of the Amer-indians, or the uniqueness of the Arab-Muslim cult, whilst declaiming savagely against the White culture. TV shows, movies, most pop-junk follows the same thesis. In such a milieu it would be doubtful if North America would rouse itself to fight Hitler, let alone an ideological and political fascism called Islam.

Even that war-mongering fascist Christian Bush gets it wrong. Recently he said, "I believe that all the world, whether they be Muslim, Christian or any other religion, prays to the same God. I believe that Islam is a great religion that preaches peace." Politicians have been saying this for years. It is nonsense. Islam is not a religion but a political construct dedicated to jihad and world domination. Who is Bush trying to kid? Why would he, or any other politician, say something so absurd?

The current of the times runs against Western Civilisation. Rome did not fall magically in 476 A.D. By then the collapse had long taken place. The political reconstruction – an exchange as it were of pagan-barbarian kings and laws for Roman – was already well established by 476 A.D. Rome's culture, long tired, dissembling, corrupt and self-abasing, had long given up the idea of empire and glory. Rome did not crash, it just slowly burnt out.

So it goes with politically-correct multi-culturalism. Just don't be surprised when your local school is forcing children to learn Arabic and pray to the Allah moon cult. It will happen so slowly, so stealthily, so easily, that you won't even recognise that your culture is finished, and your modern world gone until it is too late.

Imagine what happens when the fascism Called Islam overruns North America?

The options in short designer wear is plenty. All you have to do is take your pick according to your figure and comfort level and you will shine like a star in the evening party.

If you are shy type and trying out that short dress for the first time, go for jersey dresses. The reason behind them is that they hide more than they reveal.

But if you are the experimental sort, then stone embellished halter dresses must be your pick. Available in a variety of colors like purple, plums and pinks, they are sure to raise your presence quotient at the party. And who would mind the attention?

A new entrant in the category of short dresses are Ruffle tiered tunic dresses. It is a body hugging dress which flatters a bit from the waist and again narrows down towards the thighs. This kind of short dress is ideal for those with heavier mid riff. You can either opt for one shoulder dress in a variety of colors and fabrics. They look elegant and are stylish at the same time. One shoulder dress shifts the focus from the midriff and beams to the neck…so those with svelte shoulders can wear this kind of short dress.

However, for petite frame, a tube dress or off-shoulder ones would look good. Meanwhile whatever you wear, make sure you team up with the best accessory, i.e. your confidence. So best of luck with the party preparation!
